Duties in wards and out-patient departments suspended, emergency services to continue only for 48 hours as resident doctors in Jammu also go on strike

A meeting was called upon by the Principal Gmc jammu with RDA jammu, which was attended by the office bearers of RDA along with a large number of students. According to a press note sent by RDA to paigaam.in, the Principal informed the students about the official conversations principal has had with the Principal Secretary in favour of the demands of the RDA.

RDA further declared that the resident students had prepared a delegation to meet the Principal Secretary, but due to the sudden developments in GMC Srinagar where doctors have been relieved from their present postings as punishment for joining the strike called by doctor’s association of the residents of GMC Srinagar, all the doctors of Jammu as a single unit have showed their willingness to go for an indefinite strike from today i.e. 4th July 2018. The duties for the OPD’s and wards have been suspended but the emergencies will continues upto 48 hours and then the further course of action will be decided.

RDA Jammu has special regards for the ongoing yatra and the flood alerts ,for which a special team of doctors (Rapid Action Team) from all the emergency departments have been formed, which will provide optimum health care in case of any emergencies for the same.

Further, according to the communication with paigaam.in , RDA wants to bring to the notice of the administration that RDA has always been there for the service of the people of the state, but at the same time , it also demands the equality in terms of salary and want it to be brought at par with the SKIMS.

The press note sent by RDA to paigaam.in, humbly request the authorities to solve their demands at the earliest so that thy doctors can resume their duties and provide uninterrupted services to the people of the state.
